Helping each other
People from Tolo in America and people in Tolo work together.
ADT-USA is a US community group led by people from Tolo and their friends. We turn love for Tolo into real projects for Tolo, Mamou, Guinea.
ADT-USA works to improve life in Tolo by funding and running projects in education, health, water, farming and small business. We bring together Tolo people in America, local leaders and partners around one goal: a strong Tolo.
We picture a Tolo where every child goes to school, every family has clean water, every village has basic health care, and every woman and young person can earn a good living. Our dream is rooted in the culture, land and potential of Tolo.
"A Tolo that keeps its children, employs its youth and honors its elders — a model for Mamou, Guinea."
People from Tolo in America and people in Tolo work together.
Villagers help decide what projects are needed. Local voices matter.
We share how money is used and report results openly.
We build things that keep working, like wells and trained local teams.
We aim to do every project well, because Tolo deserves the best.
Women, youth and all five districts are part of our work.

The Bafing — the main headstream of the Senegal river — takes its source in Tolo. From our hills the water flows north through Guinea, Mali and Senegal, feeding millions of people across West Africa.
For the people of Tolo, the Bafing is more than a river. It is a source of life, identity and pride — and a responsibility we share with our neighbors downstream.
The Puuto — the traditional Fulani head cap worn across West Africa — was first made in Tolo. What began here in our hands is now a symbol of Fulani identity everywhere.

Suudu Pouto — the house of the Puuto, Tolo-Guelin

Handmade Puuto caps from Tolo
In Tolo-Guelin the community built Suudu Pouto — the House of the Puuto — to protect this craft, pass it to the next generation and welcome visitors who want to learn its history. It is a living workshop and a place of pride for every Tolo family.
